Solanki paints his trademark black and white faceless portraits of the pure and honest Rabari rustic folk with their ornately embroidered clothes. They invoke his romance with the place and its people. His hatching strokes and contrasting tonalities in black and white reveal a subtleness rarely seen. He says, 'I want to continue making statements through visual language, while keeping my roots. My works must appeal and be understood by the common man.'201D
Solanki lives and works in Ahmedabad.
